Selector Statement
With its repeating circles, Borderline could be depicting the dilation and contraction of the eye’s pupil or the sun’s disappearance and reappearance during an eclipse. However, what appears as line in Douglas’s work is actually the result of sculptural fusing techniques. These techniques give line a power beyond drawing: the construction of three-dimensional space.
